My wife and I on Art Hill.

I’m Michael Keth, a painter based out of Edwardsville, Illinois. I’ve been making art most of my life, and for the past two decades, oil paint has been the medium I return to again and again. It’s slow, deliberate, and forgiving, which is how I need to work.

I studied under Grant Hargate, Elaine Tillinger, and Hans Levi at Lindenwood College in the early 1990s — a time that deeply shaped my purpose.

My influences range from Thiebaud, Hopper, and Wyeth’s quiet honesty to the expressive color and structure of the Bay Area figurative painters — Diebenkorn, Wonner, and Brown.

If you’d like to connect, collaborate, or learn more about my work, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks,
