Artist Bio
Michael Keth is an American artist whose current work explores tension, solitude, and moments of emotional suspension within urban life. Working primarily from personal source material, his paintings focus on figures caught in transitional spaces where anticipation and isolation intersect. Light, architecture, and spatial distance shape the emotional atmosphere of each work, with the surrounding environment carrying equal weight to the figures itself.
Keth studied studio art at Lindenwood College under Grant Hargate and Elaine Tillinger. Influenced by American painters such as Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, he has worked in figurative painting for more than thirty-five years. He currently lives and maintains a studio in Edwardsville, Illinois.
